| 内容記述 | 「良心」とは、心の中の規範意識に基づいて個別の行為について善悪を判断する反省的働きを意味する。初期キリスト教は良心の観念をヘレニズム・ユダヤ教を経由して、周辺世界より取り入れた。使徒パウロは、良心を信仰における自由のうちに生きる者の行動を内から規制する心の中の規範意識として捉えている（ロマ2:15; 13:5; I コリ8:7, 10, 12; 10:25, 27 他）。但し、信仰者の良心は、聖霊に導かれて、神の御心に従った判断をする（ロマ8:14）。 牧会書簡や公同書簡では、良心は信仰者に相応しい心の在り方として、信仰と並ぶ徳目として列挙されている（I テモ1:5, 19a; 3:9; II テモ1:3）。ヘブライ書において良心とは呵責を与える罪の意識のことである（ヘブ9:14; 10:22）。キリストを信じる者は、キリストの血によって清められ、良心の呵責から解放された清い心をもって神に仕えるのである（10:22）。 |

| 内容記述 | The term "conscience" refers to the reflective function of judging the morality of individual actions based on an internal awareness of ethical norms. The recognition of the function of conscience was widespread in the Greco-Roman world, and the theme of remorse was repeatedly addressed in tragedies and philosophical writings. Early Christianity adopted the idea of conscience from the surrounding world by way of Hellenistic Judaism. The Apostle Paul viewed conscience as an internal ethical awareness that regulates the actions of those who live in the freedom of faith (Romans 2:15; 13:5; 1 Corinthians 8:7, 10, 12; 10:25, 27, etc.). The conscience of believers, however, is guided by the Holy Spirit to make judgments in accordance with God's will (Romans 8:14). In the Pastoral and Catholic epistles, conscience is listed as a virtue alongside faith, representing the proper disposition of a believer's heart (1 Timothy 1:5, 19a; 3:9; 2 Timothy 1:3). In the Epistle to the Hebrews, conscience refers to the awareness of sin that causes remorse (Hebrews 9:14; 10:22). Those who believe in Christ are purified by His blood and serve God with a pure heart, free from the burden of a guilty conscience (Hebrews 10:22). |
