This paper sets out to reconsider Luther’s letter for deadly plague in the 16th century from the perspective of Agamben’s insight to life for covid-19. Regarding serving neighbors as a service to God in his letter, Luther succeeds in reforming Christian traditional concepts such as prayer, love and service to neighbor in the way of contextual theology. From the viewpoint of the letter for deadly plague, “life together with our neighbor in the presence of God (coram Deo)” is also radicalized from merely a religious-moral discourse to the mode of existence of life.
